Lyric

La Gringa and El Mexicano-

Kristian and I met one day while I was living in Mexico City pursuing dreams. I had forced myself out of my homesickness to a park bench in my favorite park. I took my diary and proceeded to write and write about my soul mate. I spared nothing imaging this glorious man and all that he would bring to my family. In the midst of this I noticed a striking man walking by. I was instantly attracted to him, something magnetic- beyond just physical. I went back to writing and suddenly a pair of black shiny shoes appeared in view. It was that man, who is now my Kristian.
He introduced himself as a musician who was performing in a childrens' theatre and invited me. I took his promotional piece and even proceeded to finish my dream weaving on it after I ran out of diary paper. Much to my surprise Kristian re-emerged about an hour later, asked to sit down next to me and really he's never left since....

And now we have our life and our Lyric...

Shortly before we got pregnant with Lyric we decided to pursue Kristian's visa and residence in the United States. Being that I would sponsor him, I had to return home. Naively he assumed this would just take a few months...nine months, many tears and frustrations, broken hearts at times, and trips back and forth to Mexico he still had not received his Visa. It was a long struggle for everyone involved and heartbreaking that it wasn't completed before Lyric's arrival- but that's where Misty came in. She created a photo journey of Lyric's journey to us which Kristian will always have as a physical connection to an event he was most definitely spiritually present for.
